hola familia.- pues hoy fue un poco raro. nos despertamos or
we woke up at 5:45 and we played futbol with the ward. we have been playing a
lot. i still don't like it but its fun to run around. i am definitely not
getting better though. Sometimes we play football and it is super fun. i really
love that sport...especially a lot more than football. but today we got flu
shots. it was alright. we gave a district meeting earlier than we usually do
and i had to talk a lot in it. it was really good to talk to the missionaries
in the zone. we talked about the importance of inviting people since the
beginning to follow Jesus and to be baptized. and how important first impressions
are. well this is true for you guys as well. we can all be conduits of the
light of Christ. He is the light. you should watch the Mormon message video
that Elder Bedanr did about light it is really good and it explains that but
you should all know that people are always watching. it doesnt matter if they
think something good about us. we have to make sure that they don't have
anything they could say against the church or our faith or our claim to divine
authority through our actions. like it says in 2 Corinthians 6 3. we cant do
anything that would make someone think we are not Christians. we have to be an
example to the believers. Matt 5 14-16 says that we cannot be hiding. we have
to live in a way that everyone can see the light of Christ through our eyes. we
have to have the image of God engraven in our countenance. we do that by living
what the scriptures say. how we do that is by reading them first. i am so glad
you are all reading the scriptures. keep doing it. i know it is something
important. there are 19000 members here but only 4000 go to church and the main
reason is because the 15000 less active dont read. i sometimes feel scared that
i wont be able to stay as active as i am in the gospel and keep the
commandments when i get home. but then i think of the example of the barra de
hierro and i know that if i read then i will be able to do it.
well
thats what i got to say about that. this week was really good. we taught a lot
of lessons and we had a lot of people going to church i really like what mother
said about family members motivating everyone else. i like it because we are teaching
a lot of families instead of just one person and i can tell them that my
family supports one another so they can live the gospel and so they will be
supported. well i love you guys a lot and keep studying. I am doing great I dont
feel sick anymore and thanks for caring so much about me. i bought new shoes
today because my right foot had a hole in it. i think its because i walk weird.
i have had companions ask me if i had broken my leg or something like that but
i said no. but my right shoe always wears out faster than my left. the shoes
still look great so i am just gonna send them to a place where they can put new
soles on the shoes to fix em. but its crazy how tough my feet have gotten because
they never hurt or get blisters anymore. the body is amazing haha well i love
you guys a lot and take care. oh and i will have to see the talk from daddy. it
seems really good. why was it funny? well i wont write anything specific
to y’all because i guess i am supposed to write a special letter for ali.
adios
Janel's Note:
-In the email below David is referring to his Mission Presidents wife, Sister Garcia.
-I thought it would be fun to include the picture I emailed to David that he asks about. It's a smoothie Scott and I like to drink daily made with 80% Veggies/ 20% fruit some chia and flax seeds among several other items but what really gives this smoothie it's green color is the Spirulina that I add. David will enjoy hearing about the spirulina as it's actually been used by indigenous cultures for centuries, including the ancient Aztec civilizations. The Aztecs prized Spirulina, which they harvested from Lake Texcoco in Mexico.
