hello family! well this week was pretty good. we were in a pretty strong storm for acouple of the days but i was happy because none of my books got wet haha. i don´t mind the rain because it isn´t as hot and most of the time people have misericordia de nosotros and they let us in. the only thing i don´t like about it is that the books get wet sometimes but now i always bring plastic sacks so they stay dry haha butalso one of the storms was a lightning storm and we were like right in the middle of it and there were like 4 strikes that were right next to where we were waiting during the cover haha. my finger is going good. it probably needed stitches but i just put a bandaid on it and called it good which is better than what i ususally do with my cuts and stuff....haha i almost have full mobility again so all´s good haha. well as far as the work goes, things are going good for us. we are hoping to have a baptism this week. we are really really happy that we have some great members in the ward. they are really willing to help with the missionary work and it is so great when they help out. i don´t know if you guys saw the world training thing yesterday that they did in the mtc but it was amazing and really talks about the work of the members. it was a really good training and i hope they do another one because it helped a lot of people including all of the missionaries to be more excited about missionary work. if we really understand the blessings of the gospel and if we really have experimented the joy of the atonement, we will want to share it with everyone, like in lehi’s dream when he partook of the fruit of the tree of life. so if yáll don’t feel like sharing it, you either need to count your blessings or try to put your lives back in order so you can feel the power and joy of the atonement and Christ´s love again in your lives. and there is not a better way to do that than to start sharing what you know and feel with everyone else. even though it’s such a blessing that we have to be members of the church and to have the opportunity to have an eternal family, but if we don´t share it then we are not completing with the first covenant that we make as described in mosiah 18. y’all should read it to make sure you are completing with that covenant along with the other covenants we make in the other sacred places. i guess this might sound like a planch, but its what we all need. many times we are too complacent with the work but if we really understand how short this life is and how important every moment is, and that we are all one big family, we will want to share it more. yáll will feel great joy sharing it and if anyone is scared to do it or doesnt know what to say or how to say it, ask fox or even ask michelle because she has shared it with many of her friends. one of the biggest duties we have is share the gospel well. d and c 58 talks about being anxiously engaged in a good cause.  my new comps name is jesus. try and read that scripture. i love you guys a lot and i hope all is going well. it sounds like it is. oh i almost forgot, we had the farewell of our mission president. it was so good because he talked about the whole plan of salvation. it was amazing how detailed, yet simple he shared it. iwas really glad i got to know him. its not everyday you get to here something like that from a 70. it was so amazing. i can´t explain it but it was a really strong testimony builder because when he was telling it was just so true. he talked about the spirit world and how the missionry work will be there and how our ancestors are waiting. it was amazing. he also gave us all a blessing. it was really special and he said some amazing things that i or other missionaries had never told him. it was cool because he said he wanted to give all of us a gift before leaving and he said god told him that he wanted to give each of us a blessing and so he acted in Gods name through the priesthood to give us a blessing that were really personal and specific. it was amazing well the church is true, the priesthood is real and Christ is our savior.

love, elder coffey

mother, well as far as the new area goes, it´s about the same as far as safety goes. probably a little more dangerous here if anything because people come from different parts ofthe country to live here. i still have a long way to go before august 2014 but they senda letter out with all the info like 5 months before so don´t worry about that.

mc that´s awesome how you defended the gospel. i´m proud of ya siss haha and i´m glad you are going to the temple. ask mar if all of our family history work is done and if all of the ordinances are done for them as well. we had a way cool talk about the plan of salvation from our mission president and he talked about how much we need to do the work for our ancestors. love ya. oh and everyday is super cool out here because i´m here and i´m super cool haha jk but love ya lot hobe

well that sounds like fun. i guess your fishing luck is the same as always becasuae i always out fished you anyways haha jk but i love you alot and thanks for teaching me so manythings about how to fix stuff and things like that. i recieved a blessing where my president told me that i would use those skills to help many people and so thanks a lot. it sounds like life is going pretty rough but when the going gets tough, the tough get going. read your scriptures and you´ll feel a spritual recharge and that will help your whole body becasue our body is just a heep of flesh and bone, but our spirit is what makes it move if that makes sense. we all need spritual food and sometimes we go days without eating, drinking or sleeping spritually. adios

hello family. that sounds really fun seeing stan again. i can{t believe he's home already.  That's awesome he gave a good talk. and thanks for sending a the pics of the new house. it sounds like all is going well out there. things are going well in caucel.this area is really different than my last one because here, the city is only about 5 years old so everything is really modern and most of the people are from different parts of mexico. its been weird getting used to the different culture and the different houses, but the ward is really awesome. it{s amazing how organized the church can be with all the technology we have. this area didn{t really have anything as far as investigators go so we were working really hard the whole week. it was a pretty good week but some pretty crazy stuff happened. first of all, we got locked out of our house because my comp lost his keys. so we were trying to get in for like a half an hour and then we decided that we could go buy some paper clips because he knows how to pick locks haha well we went to go buy some and it turned out they didn{t work and then our member told us how we could use a bottle to open the door. the good news is that it works, the bad news is that now all of our vecinos know how to get into our house.....haha well after that when we finally got into our house, and got to bed, we were sleeping when all the sudden i woke up yelling yeeeeeeeeeeeouch!because while i was sleeping, i almost had my pinky finger cut off because i stuck it in the fan that i use that has metal blades! haha so that was a really interesting day for us. But right now it{s raining haha it{s funny because i always carry my umbrella but today i took it out because it was sunny but then althesudden a bunch of clouds came so we got pretty wet. also its funny because my left shoe is really wet, but my right one is dry. well i didn{t really have time to think of a spiritual thought for yall in this week but i just want you to know that i love all of you, i love this work, and i know that Christ is the Savior of the world. i know that God loves us and i know that the Gospel blesses families. adios

the pic is a picture of the keystone to our religion and the key to our door...well now we just use a credit card but before it was this bottle haha

Janel's note:  David actually included a picture of his pinkie finger but I thought it was a little too graphic so I didn't include it.  It looked like David probably could have used a few stitches but will be ok - I just hope he cleaned it out really good!

hello family. well i am now officially in the mexico merida misión. which means i was transfered from Valladolid to a Little town outside of Merida called Caucel. It’s  pretty good. I’m leader de distrito and I’m kinda nervous for that because  i  have never had a leadership position before besides being a trainer. but they say district leader is one of the hardest so I’m readay! haha if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that the Lord helps us fulfill our callings. the new house is pretty good. It’s clean and  my new comp is named Elder Juarez. he is from Houston Texas and is pretty good. it was a pretty hard leaving Valladolid especially for the people and my comp because we got pretty attached but i guess that’s just how the misión goes. it was really hard to say goodbye to the converts but         we said that we would see each other in a year when they get sealed in the temple. i am so glad that we have eternal families. it is so important. Well its been pretty crazy up until now but I’m going to try and write something interesting. It’s just that so much happens and you have so much going through your mind when you get transferred in when you get transferred. but oh  well. Lets see what could i say...well idk haha I’m loving the work and I’m excited to have a new fresh start in a new  área with a new comp and Ward.

adiós i love you guys

mother thats true what you said about all the stuff with moving and everything. it defiantly makes saying goodbye easier when you know it’s never forever is you live the gospel.

Michelle I’ll   look for a bag like that is should be able to find one. and  nothing out of the normal except in my old house for like 2 weeks a bird was trying to get into our house by running into the window haha it was prettyfunny because it was really bugging my comp and he got really mad haha

hermanito quiero saber este historia. jaja gracias pordecir estas coas a danny.y ha tienes novia. pues adios

Thanks for the message about judging and all that. It’s very true what you are saying.  I have been Reading Jesus the Christ and I remember how you said that the way they read it on the cds is pretty cool. when i get home I’ll listen to them haha but I really like the picture you sent. I’m really glad you helped me to have such a strong carácter.  You did it by pushing me and giving me a good example. thanks!!! I’m glad you are able to go on more motorcyle rides. its pretty fun to hear the stories.  Are you going to go fishing this summer well adios
