Called to Serve

"Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work ... and faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work." - D&C 4:3-5

howdy. well one more change has gone by and we are now half way through with the 12 week training program. it has gone by super fast and i am so grateful for this opportunity to serve. we had 2 baptisms this week and they were super special for me because there were from the family that we are working a lot with. little by little we are helping this family to be eternal and that is what i love the most about helping the people. if they keep going strong in the Gospel, they will be able to return to God´s presence as a family. i am really grateful for the fact that our family is eternal and i sometimes catch myself almost bragging about it because i am so grateful for that fact that we can live together forever. More than anything i´m grateful for the atonement that makes this all possible. all we have to do is repent and we will be able to clean ourselves from the sins and become worthy of Gods mercy. i love seeing the changes in the families as they begin to feel the spirit and begin to live the Gospel. the atonement´s power is real.

well also this week we had a cool experience helping a lady. we saw her trying to walk and thought she had a disability but it was actually because she was so drunk she literally could not stand up straight. her shirt was stained with vomit and it was pretty hard to breathe when we approached her because she smelled like alcohol so much. but then as we approached her in the street, a thought came to my mind that we are all children of a father in heaven and what would Jesus do in this circumstance. so in spite of the throw up and bad smell and the fact that she not only walked super slow, but also in the opposite direction of where we needed to go, we each grabbed her hands and helped her to get to her house. we gave her a blessing when we got to her little cement home. it was a super dirty home and there were like 12 kids and it seemed like half of them were naked but again the thought came to me they are all children of our heavenly father. He’s not a respecter of persons. i love everyone and i love you guys. Remember the small things you can do every day to change people’s lives. if we wouldn’t´ have helped this hermana, she probably wouldn´t have gotten home in that same day because it was almost night and she was pretty far from her house. we can do miracles by doing small things for people. well that´s all i have to say this week adiosç

adios y te amo mucho. is this week mother´s day? adios

That's great that you and Elder Oliver have been able to have 2 more baptisms. Also, I'm so glad you were able to help that lady to find her way home.
