Called to Serve

"Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work ... and faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work." - D&C 4:3-5

11/11/2013. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE READ THE SCRIPTURES

Janel’s Note:  The proper spelling for the illness David talks about  is spelled: dengue hemorrhagic fever.  Hopefully he is over this, we are just thankful that he was diagnosed and was seen and treated by a Dr.

hello family. well this week was probably one of the hardest weeks number wise that i have had in the mission. but its all good. we just need to work harder this week. we lost 2 days because i was sick so they had to put me on lock down so we couldnt leave.  i slept the 2 days and it was pretty nice but im ready to have a whole work day. i had dangae i still dont know how to spell it but its something you get from mosquitos. its funny because when the doc took my temp. i had a temperature of 102 but i didnt notice because we are always hot haha. it makes me wonder if there have been other times when i have been sick...but oh well all is good now. things are going smoothly here. our biggest challenge is finding real new investigators. like everyone will listen but not everyone is willing to change. but we prayed and fasted for new people so if we work hard we should be blessed with these people. well it seems like from what mother said, things are well with yall.  I know that this church is true and i know that this work that we are doing is the most important so always remember to share the Gospel with someone else.  everyone that has been warned should warn their neighbor.  well thats about all i have to say this week so adios

mother, its true what you say about the grace of God but as it says in 2 nephi 26, we are only saved by grace after doing everything we can. i said what i said because we do need to be perfectly clean from our sins. 3 nephi 27 19-20 is very clear on that and also another one in 1 nephi 15. the final judgement is real and it will be a horrible day for many people, even members of the church because there are many that do not understand that they must repent of all their sins. God cannot look upon sin with the least amount of tolerance. so we must repent of all our sins. we must repent if we haven’t studied the scriptures like we know we should because it is a commandment. we must read the scriptures because we will be judged for the things that are said in the scriptures. if we dont read the scriptures, we will not recognize Jesus when he comes. so dont fall into the temptation of thinking that every other day is ok. thats what happened in the dream of lehi and those people died. read the Book of Mormon every day and repent of all your sins. nothing impure can enter in his kingdom. we are saved by grace only after doing everything we can. idk what everything is for you but i know that for me, i can do a whole lot more than i think that i am capable.  i love you a lot mother and that’s why i say these things. we can never repent too much or too sincerely. remember what benjamin said as he ended his speach in mosiah 4. there are so many ways that we can sin that they are not numbered so watch out for everything because there will be many that will say eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. and if we are found guilty, God will give us some stripes and all willl be well in zion. that is a lie of satan. we need to repent of all our sins. well I just find this part of the Gospel really important and I share the most important things with the people i love most.

ola mc. what up. so did you go trick or treating? and whats up with your squirrles? well adios

pops, good luck on your talk. i wish i could here it. thats cool about the weather too. well adios

hola family. well this week had a ton of stuff happen. first we had a baptism on halloweeeeeeennnnn!!!! it was really spiritual(as in the holy ghost spiritual) I directed it and bore my testimony like 5 times as i went up to announce each part of the program. the person who got baptized was ________.   she was super ready and read part of the miracle of forgiveness. its amazing because she understood it for the most part very easily. so we helped the whole family out a ton. another highlight is that Elder Daniel Johnson of the 70 came to talk to us he did a zone conference and a special meeting with the ward council of all of merida and also he did a special meeting for us. he said there are 19,000 members here but only about 4 thousand are active. its prettty eye opening. we need to reactivate anyone we can. also he talked about 1 nephi 8 and the dream of lehi. lehi said the iron rod is the word of God. we know how it goes but it is so real. it is one of the most important visions in the world. you should watch the animated scriptures version of it. i love you guys very much and share this with every one please not only by email but share it even with your mouth.

well also this week i got sick or still am haha. Its been pretty rough. i mostly just feel superduper tired. sometimes the temptations come to rest but i just keep working cause i know i gotta give all i got and be a witness of Christ even unto death

mother you dont need to worry about when i come home for what to do. they do it all.

hola familia. well this week was good. our bars still arent fixed but they will be i just pray a lot everynight and so far so good. we dont live in an appartment btw. we live in a house hahaha but yeah this week was actually really good as far as the work goes. we taught a lot of lessons. the only hard part is that our area is doing great but the rest of the zone is struggling i feel like i can do great things in my own area but now i need to help the zoon out as well. it will be pretty interesting to see what Elder Juassi and I come up with. we bought a football so we are going to play every morning. it will be pretty sweet. especially since i havent played for a while and i am sick of seeing so much soccer haha but as far as the work goes things are going great. well i guess i dont have a lot to write about. things are pretty tranquilo.
well could you guys send me the email of clark. id like to write him. and also dont forget to up´date me about the football. my comp got his updates on the donkeys and i couldnt do any smack talk because i couldnt say anything for the raiders. they probably lost anyways haha but yeah i guess that is that.

as far as an spiritual experience, we had a cool one last night when we were teaching a lady she was really interested but i felt kinda doubtful about if she would accept or not because she was talking about her Christain church a lot. well we invited her to repent and then we read a scripture that i had not planned to share before it is in Moroni 8 25-26. i was trying to find a way to connect repentance to baptism because she really wanted to repent but not so much on the baptism. i hadnt used this scripture before so i was kinda nervous but i felt impressed to share it. well it worked great because it was exactly what she needed. it said the thing like she needed to hear so i was glad i listend to the spirit. little things like that happen all the time. There are so many that i cant share them all.

well i guess i woud like to tell you guys to study mosiah and the story about the people of limhi and alma and the diference in how they were freed from there cautivityu. its in mosiah like 17 to 24 its a really good story. well i guess you gus would like to know that i told the horse joke as well haha my comp thought it was super funny....not haha i thought it was though.

well i love you guys a lot and remember that the most important duty is to do missionary work so always look for ways to share the gospel and use words when necessary. i love you guys and adios

mother my comp is from riverton. yeah his name is taylor pretty funny right. we hide the stuff in the folletos now because no one likes to read now. thats cool you got to take pics of trevor.  well i  love you a lot. we talked about mothers yesterday in church and they asked us to say something and i shared how you taught in primary and always sung the primary songs. love you lots

mc thats cool about the dance. always remember you are a beautiful daughter of God. all my comps say you are super pretty haha

love monkey hehe

daddy what happened with the scholarship. from what i was thinking, i might be home in late june if we can pull some strings for that. try and get those things signed up for as soon as possible because i dont want any problems. love you lots and dont worry about not writing i know you love me and i love you too.

adios
